   1. How do I apply for a permit?

    Ans: To apply for a permit, the following parameters are to be satisfied,

  • Your age must be below 18 and above 15 1/2 years
  • Do visit a DMV office (make an appointment for faster service)
  • Fill in the application form DL 44 (An original DL 44 form must be submitted. Copies obtained by Xeroxing, faxing, or other methods will not be accepted.)
  • Get the signatures of your parents' or guardians' on the application form DL 44
  • Provide your thumb print
  • Provide your photograph
  • Provide your social security number for verification with the Social Security Administration.
  • Confirm your birth date and legal presence
  • Provide your true and full name
  • Submit the right forms for driver education and/or driver training
  • Pay the application fee - $25
  • Do pass a vision exam
  • Pass a test on traffic laws and signs. The test comprises 46 questions and you need to clear at least 39 to get a passing grade. 3 chances are given to pass the test. If you fail, you must wait 7 days to retake it.

   2. How do I apply for a driver license?
 
    Ans:  To apply for a driver's license,

  • You must have applied for a learner's permit and have with held the permit for a 6 months time
  • You should have driven the required 50 hours (10 at night)
  • You should have passed the road test.

    3. Where do I go to get a permit/license?

    Ans: You can approach a California DMV office, specific to your area for your permit / license

   4. How much will my driver license cost?

    Ans: This costs $25 and the fee entitles you for three exams of any type within a year's time and this includes both the instruction       permit and the driver license. If all the requirements are not met within the 12-month period, the application gets void and all steps must be re- completed.

    5. How can I replace a lost or stolen permit/license, and how much will it cost?

   Ans: You need to pay a fee of $20 to a DMV office in order to replace a lost or stolen permit/license.

   6. Will I need a lot of equipment to set up and do the exercises?

   Ans: Not at all. Further more, we keep track of your progress and our automated book marking feature remembers where you’ve left off in your previous log in. Once you re-login, it automatically picks up your last visited piece of study at our teen driver ed.

   7. Can a learner's permit be renewed?

   Ans: If your application expires before you have held your provisional instruction permit for six months, you must return to DMV and re start the process with a new application. You are required to pay the application fee and fulfill all requirements. Take your instruction permit with you to DMV to gain a credit, for the time you have held your instruction permit and receive cumulative credit towards your subsequent provisional instruction permit to meet the six-month requirement before taking your driving test.

  8. How do I know that the DMV/BMV/DPS will accept your certificate?

   9. Do I have to make an appointment to take the written exam?

   Ans: An appointment is only recommended for faster service and not required for a written exam.

  10. Do I get my license immediately after passing the road test?

   Ans: Your license will be mailed to you with in 60 days of time after examination.

  11. Do I need my parent/guardians consent to get a permit and/or license?

  Ans: You need to seek your parents' or guardians' signatures on the application form DL 44 if you are below 18.

  12. Does my parent/guardian have control over my driving status until I am 18?

  Ans: As your parent/guardian gives the consent for financial responsibility, he/she has a right to have your license taken away.

  13. Is there a "Zero Tolerance" rule (Absolutely no alcohol) for teens?

   Ans: If you are under 21 years of age:

  • It is illegal to purchase beer, wine, or hard liquor.

  • It is against law to carry an alcoholic beverage in your car unless your parent accompanies you.

  • If you are convicted of DUI, the court can seize your vehicle for up to six months. You will have to pay a storage fee to retain it.

  • And convicted of a first DUI, you may have to spend time in jail and pay a fine. DMV must revoke your driver license for one year or until you are 18, whichever is longer. You must show proof of insurance, proof of completion for the educational component of a licensed DUI program, and pay a DMV reissue fee.

  14. I am new to the Internet. Is this course hard to follow?

  Ans: No. Many of our customers are new to computers and to the Internet. We have designed this course for beginners and you need no special computer skills. We are also always available to help you via telephone or E-Mail.

  16. How do you know it is me taking the program and not someone else?

   Ans: You are taking the course under penalty of perjury. We assume most people would not commit a crime to let someone else take the course for them. Additionally, we do ask a series of personal security questions to identify you while online.

  17. I am a high school student, age 16, with a permit. I heard that it is legal to drive directly to and from school alone even though my permit says to have a person 21 years of age in the passenger's seat. Is that legal?

  Ans:  No, it is definitely not legal. A Permit is a license that allows you to practice driving, but you must have a 21-year old driver (or older)  in the front seat with you. You will be permitted to drive alone after you receive your Provisional License.

  18. Can I take this course if I am under 15 ½ years old?.

  Ans: If you are a high school student you can take our drivers ed course before you turn 15 ½ years old, but you cannot apply for a learner’s permit until you turn 15 ½. It is recommended that you are at least 15 years of age before you start this course so that you will thoroughly remember the course material when taking the written test at your state (DMV) for a permit.

 19. What are the minimum software requirements for your courses?

  Ans: The course works with any standard browser like IE 5 or Netscape. There is no requirement of any software installation.
